Making Paper Come to Life: week 5

Deciding to learn how to make origami was frustrating but also rewarding. I have learned a lot in these past five weeks and I want to learn more when I get the chance to.

I liked learning how to make origami because I am an art education major so it was interesting to me to learn a new style of art. It was also cool to see how far paper can be manipulated. I really enjoyed making these figures and I felt that I will take a lot from this experience.

I now feel like I have a better understanding of the culture origami originated from. I feel more connected to this culture and I like being able to create are in a different manner. Although there were a lot of pros to this experience, I also struggled a lot.

I had a very hard time keeping myself motivated to finish a figure when it became hard. I also had to change a lot of the figures I had originally picked because they were just simply too hard for my experience level. Because I used a lot of different sources, it made it more difficult to pick up on certain basic folding skills. But once I finished my figure, I felt proud and it was very rewarding.

I decided to create a storyboard using story bird so that way I could share an overview of my five weeks. You can find my story by copying and pasting the link below into your search bar!
